Hola! mi nombre es Daniel Alejandro Carvallo García, tengo 20 años de edad y soy estudiante de economía. El pasado 7 de marzo me realizaron una resonancia magnética tras hallazgos arrojados por una exploración neurológica, donde se evidenció LOE (lesión ocupante de espacio) localizado en cerebelo. Permanecí internado en el Centro Médico Docente la Trinidad, en la ciudad de Caracas, donde gracias al apoyo de mis familiares y amigos me realizaron una biopsia estereotáctica, donde se evidenció Astrocitoma Anaplasico (grado III), a nivel de cerebelo izquierdo. Con un profundo agradecimiento por toda la ayuda prestada, me dirijo a ustedes nuevamente: amigos, conocidos y a quien pueda ayudarme para poder costear los procedimientos que deban realizarme. El 25 de marzo debido a una complicación médica, fui sometido a intervención quirúrgica para la colocación de una válvula ventrículo peritoneal. Posteriormente el 2 de abril fui evaluado por oncología, quienes indicaron un tratamiento que consta de una primera fase de aproximadamente 30 sesiones de radioterapia y quimioterapia,de manera simultánea, durante 6 semanas; por lo que necesito su apoyo para lograr cumplir todo mi tratamiento. Sabemos la terrible situación del país, por ello acudimos a ustedes porque no contamos con los recursos suficientes para cubrir todos los gastos. Una vez escuché que las cometas se elevan en contra y no a favor del viento y que cada adversidad que se presenta en nuestro camino es sólo para recordarnos de que estamos hechos...
De antemano muchísimas gracias, que Dios bendiga cada rincón de sus hogares y a cada uno de sus familiares y amigos. A veces pensamos que algo pequeño no hace la diferencia, que una gota de agua es insignificante en la inmensidad del mar, pero el mar sería menos sin esa gota.
Hi! My name is Daniel Alejandro Carvallo Garcia. I am 20 years old and I am currently majoring in Economics at the Universidad de Carabobo in Valencia, Venezuela. On March 7th I had an MRI done after a neurological exploration showed the presence of a Space-occupying Lesion on the posterior area of my cranial floor (the skull’s base). Thanks to the support of my relatives, I was hospitalized at the Medical School Center ‘La Trinidad’ in Caracas. Here, the doctors performed a stereotactic biopsy in which a grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma, which in layman’s terms is a particular type of brain tumor (glioma).
Knowing this, I once again address myself to you: friends, relatives, acquaintances and whoever out there willing to give me a hand to cover the large costs of the procedures that I will have to undergo in the following weeks. On March 25th due to a medical complication, I had a ventriculoperitoneal shunt implanted to relieve the pressure in my brain. Then, on April 2nd I was seen by an oncologist who prescribed approximately 30 sessions of radio and chemotherapy sessions (simultaneously) during the next six (6) weeks. The support I am requesting now is to afford the chemo.
We are aware of the precarious situation that Venezuela is in, but it is because of this that we reach out to you now. We just cannot afford the myriad of fees that have already come our way and that will continue to come in the foreseeable future. I once heard that kites only take flight when the wind blows against them. Each one of these hurdles is there to remind us what we are made of.
The amount that we are trying to collect represents the fees of the doctors involved in the different medical interventions, as well as the OR, medicine, and hospitalization charges.

At times we think that a small act might not make a difference, that a single drop of water is negligible with respect to the immensity of a sea. However, the sea would be less without that single drop.
