Ayuda a Ángel Pérez en su recuperación

Hola, mi nombre es Ángel.
El pasado 24 de mayo de 2020 lo que iba a ser una comida con mis amigos se convirtió en mi mayor pesadilla y mi vida cambió para siempre. Una mala caída en una piscina me luxó el cuello y me causó una lesión medular C4-C5 que me dejó tetrapléjico, paralizado de cuello para abajo.
A mis 33 años siempre he sido una persona muy activa. He dedicado mi vida al deporte, especialmente al fútbol y a la UD Barbadás en el que jugué 18 años, lo cual compaginaba con mi trabajo y mi familia.
El último año ha sido muy difícil para los míos y para mí. Tres semanas después del accidente nació mi segundo hijo, al que no pude conocer hasta tiempo después. Durante los seis meses en el hospital tampoco pude ver a mi familia ni amigos. Ahora, en mi ciudad no puedo recibir una rehabilitación intensa y adecuada por lo que tengo que desplazarme lejos y esto me mantiene separado de mis hijos y mujer. Pese a ello sigo luchando con fuerza a diario para lograr mi recuperación y poder abrazarlos de nuevo.
Con mucho esfuerzo, constancia y horas de rehabilitación he visto una mejoría en los últimos meses pero continúo dependiendo de una tercera persona que me ayude a hacer las tareas más básicas del día a día. Es por ello que el siguiente paso hacia mi recuperación sería un tratamiento con células madre para reparar mi médula y lograr mayor independencia.
Lamentablemente el tratamiento es caro y en mi país no existe esta posibilidad es por ello que tengo que desplazarme a Estados Unidos. Obtener ayuda para costear el viaje, alojamiento y tratamiento sería una gran oportunidad para mí ya que me acercaría a mi sueño de poder recuperarme, ser más independiente y poder disfrutar de mis hijos.
Estoy más que agradecido por todas las donaciones y ánimo recibido el último año, todo este apoyo significa mucho para mí.

Hello, my name is Ángel.
On May 24th 2020 what a celebrating with my friends was going to be, became in my heaviest nightmare and changed my life forever. A bad fall into a pool dislocated my neck and injured my spine at the level C4-C5 leaving me as a quad, paralyzed from the neck down.
In my early thirtyish I´ve always been an active person. I´ve spent my whole life to sports, especially football and UD Barbadás in which I played 18 years as wells as working and family.
Last year was really tough for my people and I. Three weeks after the accident my little song was born whom I couldn´t meet for a while. During six months at hospital, I couldn´t see my family neither friends. Currently, in my town I can't get an intensive and properly rehabilitation so I need to move far away and stay separated to my children and wife. However, I still fighting with strength to achieve my recovery and be able to hug them again.
In the last few months with a lot of effort, constancy and hours of rehabilitation I´ve seen improvement but I still being dependent of other person to do my basic activity daily life. This is why the next step to my recovery would be a stem cells treatment to repair my spine and get more independence.
Sadly this treatment is too expensive and I can´t get it in my country so I need to move on to United States. Some help to pay the trip, accommodation and treatment would be a tremendous chance for me to get closer my dream to recovery, be more independent and enjoy my children.
I am extremely grateful for all of the donations and words of encouragement that I got last year, all of this support means a lot for me.
