<div>Hello, my name is Maria Camila, and I am María Jimena’s cousin. I write these words with my heart in my hands, because now more than ever, we need the love and support of those who know and care for this wonderful family.

<div>A few days ago, my cousin Jime and her husband Nelson traveled with their two little boys, Isaac and Javi, from Colombia to the United States to enjoy a well-deserved vacation — a time to relax as a family and take a break from the demands of daily life. But what was supposed to be a joyful and restful trip unexpectedly turned into a heartbreaking situation.

<div>Nelson suffered a serious health emergency during the trip. He was rushed to the hospital and is currently in intensive care in a clinic in Orlando, Florida, receiving specialized medical attention. He is fighting with strength, and although the prognosis is not encouraging, our entire family is holding on to faith in his recovery.

<div>As many of you know, medical costs in the United States are extremely high — even a single day of hospitalization can become overwhelmingly expensive.

<div>Jime is facing this difficult moment alongside her children and family, but the medical bills have already far exceeded what any family could afford on their own. And we still don’t know how much longer Nelson will need to remain in the clinic. The cost has already exceeded what the insurance covered ($30,000), and as of now, the total is over $190,000.

<div>That’s why we decided to create this fundraiser. We need help to cover the cost of Nelson’s medical treatment and care. Every donation, no matter how small, will make a huge difference during this incredibly hard and unexpected time.

<div>Hace unos días, mi prima Jime y su esposo Nelson viajaron con sus dos chiquitines Isaac y Javi, a desde Colombia a Estados Unidos para disfrutar unas merecidas vacaciones, un momento para disfrutar en familia y un descanso en medio de tanto trabajo y responsabilidades. Pero lo que era un viaje de descanso y felicidad se convirtió inesperadamente en un momento muy duro.

<div>Nelson sufrió un grave percance de salud durante el viaje, fue hospitalizado de urgencias y hoy se encuentra en una clínica en Orlando, Estados Unidos en cuidados intensivos recibiendo atención médica especializada, se encuentra luchando con fuerza y aunque el pronóstico no es alentador toda la familia mantenemos la fe de su recuperación.

<div>Como muchos saben los costos médicos en Estados Unidos son altísimos, incluso por un solo día de hospitalización.

<div>Jime se encuentra enfrentando este difícil momento con sus hijos y familiares, pero la cuenta médica ya supera lo que cualquier familia podría cubrir por sí sola, y aún no sabemos cuánto más tiempo necesitará Nelson estar en la clínica, el costo ya superó lo que cubre el seguro (30.000) y en este momento va en 190.000 dólares.

<div>Por eso, decidimos crear este fondo. Necesitamos ayuda para cubrir los gastos de la clínica y el tratamiento que Nelson necesita para recuperarse. Cada aporte, por pequeño que sea, hará una diferencia enorme en este momento tan triste, inesperado y duro.
