<div>En el año 2016 tuve una cirugía de corazón abierto, donde me realizaron un reemplazo de válvula mitral mecánica y la reparación de la válvula tricúspide. Desde entonces he vivido con una condición cardíaca compleja y bajo seguimiento médico constante.

<div>Mi situación se complicó aún más cuando contraje COVID-19 en el año 2023. Después de esa infección, mi salud se deterioró significativamente y los especialistas comenzaron a evaluarme como posible candidata para un trasplante de corazón y pulmón.

<div>Desde enero de 2026, mi salud se ha deteriorado rápidamente debido a una hipertensión pulmonar severa e insuficiencia cardíaca. A principios de este año fui hospitalizada en Memorial Hermann Hospital en Houston debido a complicaciones relacionadas con mi condición.

<div>A medida que mi estado empeoró, posteriormente fui admitida en Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center, donde especialistas diagnosticaron insuficiencia respiratoria hipóxica aguda sobre crónica causada por la progresión de mi hipertensión pulmonar.

<div>Hoy dependo de oxígeno suplementario las 24 horas del día simplemente para poder respirar. Mi historial médico se ha vuelto extremadamente complejo e incluye:

<div>Debido a la progresión de mi enfermedad, mis médicos me han evaluado para un trasplante combinado de corazón y pulmón, que podría ser mi mejor oportunidad de supervivencia. Sin embargo, comenzar este proceso requiere copagos médicos significativos y otros gastos relacionados, y en este momento mi situación financiera hace extremadamente difícil poder avanzar.

<div>Vivir con esta enfermedad me ha impedido continuar trabajando. Incluso actividades simples, como caminar distancias cortas, provocan falta de aire severa y caídas peligrosas en mis niveles de oxígeno.

<div>Para poder iniciar el proceso del trasplante, el hospital requiere un copago inicial de $3,500, que debo depositar en los próximos días para poder avanzar con la evaluación y preparación para el trasplante.

<div>Hello, my name is Lisa Swift, and I am reaching out for help during one of the most difficult moments of my life.

<div>In 2016, I underwent open-heart surgery, during which I had a mechanical mitral valve replacement and a tricuspid valve repair. Since then, I have been living with a complex heart condition and have required ongoing medical care and monitoring.

<div>My situation became even more complicated when I contracted COVID-19 in 2023. After that infection, my health declined significantly and my lungs were severely affected.

<div>From that point on, specialists began evaluating me as a possible candidate for a combined heart and lung transplant, which now represents my best chance for survival.

<div>Because my disease has progressed, my doctors have evaluated me for a dual heart and lung transplant, which may be my best chance for survival.

<div>However, beginning the transplant process requires significant medical copayments and related expenses, and at this moment my financial situation makes it extremely difficult to move forward.
</div>
<div>Living with this illness has made it impossible for me to work. Even simple activities such as walking short distances cause severe shortness of breath and dangerous drops in my oxygen levels.
</div>
<div>I am a widow and the mother of my son Christian, who is still finishing high school. My greatest wish is to recover and continue being present in his life as he completes this important stage and begins building his future.
