Hola, mi nombre es Jagrexy Bermudez, actualmente me encuentro en España, y junto a mi familia hemos decidido crear esta campaña para recaudar fondos y así poder ayudar a mi madre adoptiva, Encarnación Fernández, quien recientemente fue diagnosticada con tumor cerebral (Síndrome Expansivo Cerebral), la cual es una enfermedad degenerativa, se debe al aumento de la presión intracraneal (hipertensión intracraneal). Al explorar el fondo de ojo (retina) se encuentra lo que se denomina “edema de papila”, que indica que el cerebro está sometido a una mayor presión de la normal. Si el cuadro progresa, puede producirse parálisis de nervios craneales (principalmente oculares), hemiparesias o hemiplejias, disminución del nivel de conciencia y llegar a parada respiratoria o cardiaca, todo ello debido a lesión progresiva del tronco cerebral.
Mi mama vive en Venezuela y en el mes de octubre del 2020 fue diagnosticada con esta cruel y terrible condición, cambiando su vida por completo. Pasó de ser una persona activa, fuerte e independiente a no ser capaz siquiera de completar tareas diarias por sí misma, producto de los fuertes dolores que genera la presión en su cabeza, eventos de falta de conciencia y visión borrosa.
Los problemas comenzaron aproximadamente en el mes de Agosto del 2020, su vida empezó a cambiar presentando dificultad para desempeñarse, específicamente por frecuentes desmayos, luego presento dificultad para hablar. Y por último comenzaron los fuertes dolores generados por la presión craneal.
En el mes de Noviembre comenzó tratamiento con Meldiban (Levetiracetam) de 500ml, un medicamento anticonvulcionante, el cual debe tomar por tiempo indefinido. Impedil-P (Celecoxid) de 200ml que se debe suministrar cada 12 horas para controlar el dolor. Estos medicamentos solo la ayudan a sobre llevar su día a día, pero no evitan que el tumor se expanda más.
Dado el tamaño alcanzado por dicho tumor no se recomienda ser intervenido quirúrgicamente tomando en cuenta al riesgo de quedar sin sus funciones básicas o no sobrevivir a la misma. El procedimiento debe ser no invasivo por medio de radio cirugía.
Mi madre está pasando por una pesadilla, ya que está muy consciente de los cambios que está sufriendo, su vida ha cambiado por completo y está en constante depresión.
