Ayrshire Coastal Path Maintenance Fund 2022

The 100 mile Ayrshire Coastal Path   (ACP) needs your help to pay for ongoing path maintenance work.

In order to carry out regular work such as strimming back overgrown vegetation, repairing gates, steps and bridges, and replacing damaged or missing signage, we rely on donations from people like you who have either enjoyed a walk along part of our Path, or completed the entire trail, or follow our work on our Facebook Page .

Despite having official designation as one of "Scotlands Great Trails", the ACP has no paid staff and does not receive any regular funding from local or national government: it is fully managed and maintained by volunteers who selflessly give their time to keep it in good condition.

But the machinery & materials all cost money! In particular this year we are looking to raise funds to help towards the cost of a purchasing a second-hand 4x4 vehicle to allow us to continue our work. Much of the work we do requires the use of a vehicle capable of driving off-road with a large trailer attached so that we can transport tools and equipment to remote areas and also for example uplift large collections of rubbish collected from the beaches. At the moment we are completely reliant on one volunteer for that, as they happen to own a 4 wheel drive Freelander. This limits how often we can get out to carry out essential maintenance tasks to way below the frequency needed.
