ABOUT AYNI AND HOW YOU CAN HELP
The Ayni Climatico will gather 70 leaders, activists, land and earth defenders to strengthen our ties and work together on the road towards COP25 - the UN climate negotiations - and beyond. We need your support to make it happen!
The Camp will take place between the 16-20th October near Santiago, Chile. We want to create a space to deepen our knowledge, organizing, and strategy of social movements for environmental, climate and intersectional justice in Latin America.
We have been overwhelmed with the interest from across the region with participants from Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Nicaragua wanting to join with local groups in Chile. We want to enable these diverse perspectives and experiences to come together to grow our solutions, and your support can help make it happen. We still need to raise 30% of our budget to cover:
- Transport of 10 more participants
- Seed-funding for groups to implement follow-on projects
- Extra infrastructure for us to be able to all be in one space together
We really want to limit money from being a barrier to people’s participation and also want to have some budget to support our creativity. We appreciate any kind of donation you can give, or even if you just share our crowd-funding link to your networks.

The Ayni Climático will create a space for coexistence, healing, care, art, co-construction and community. These elements make the camp special and different since they reflect the plurality and diversity of our territories and struggles, in addition to strengthening our social tissue and collective action. The Camp will bring together the combined wisdom of grassroots communities, social movements, and indigenous cultures wanting to take social action which forge the path towards transition to new possible worlds based on gender, racial, territorial, labor, climate and environmental justice, equity and reciprocity.
Specifically, the camp seeks to:
-- Strengthen the Latin American social tissue that works towards systemic change, environmental and social justice: a transition to new possible worlds
-- Establish the meaning of climate justice for our territories
-- Deepen the intersections of the struggles for social and environmental justice
-- Plan for collective actions and projects in the months to come into 2020
MEANING OF “AYNI”
Ayni in Andean cultures refers to reciprocity and mutual support, and builds on synergies between the human, natural and spiritual world. The principle on which Ayni is based, reciprocity, helps us to face the global environmental and social crisis, restoring the feeling of cooperation between groups, organizations and individuals, and to connect with a full and conscious life for the buen vivir - good life.
WHO IS ORGANIZING AYNI?
We are a network of groups and young activists working for systemic transformation towards “el buen vivir” - “good living” - under the principles of climate and social justice. We come from networks such as TierrActiva Peru, TierrActiva Colombia, TierrActiva Bolivia, and the Bolivian Platform Against Climate Change, and we are organizing ourselves because we know the importance of building collectively with the knowledge specific to our region. So far the Camp had received funding support from Global Greengrants, FRIDA The Young Feminist Fund, and the Central American Women's Fund.

SOBRE EL AYNI Y CÓMO PUEDES AYUDAR
El Ayni Climático será un campamento que reunirá a 70 líderes y lideresas, activistas, defensorxs del territorio y la vida para fortalecer nuestros lazos y trabajar juntxs en el camino hacia la COP25 - las negociaciones climáticas de la ONU - y más allá. ¡Necesitamos tu apoyo para que esto suceda!
El campamento se llevará a cabo entre el 16 y el 20 de octubre cerca de Santiago, Chile. Queremos crear un espacio para profundizar nuestros conocimientos, organización y estrategias de movimientos sociales para la justicia ambiental, climática e interseccional en América Latina.
Nos ha abrumado el interés de personas de toda la región - de Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, México, Paraguay, Perú y Nicaragua - quienes desean participar y unirse a grupos locales en Chile. Queremos permitir que estas diversas perspectivas y experiencias se unan para hacer crecer nuestras alternativas a la crisis climática, y tu apoyo puede ayudar a que esto suceda. Aún necesitamos recaudar el 30% de nuestro presupuesto para cubrir:
- El transporte de 10 participantes más
- La financiación inicial como capital semilla para que grupos puedan implementar proyectos de seguimiento después del campamento
- Infraestructura adicional para poder estar todxs juntxs en un mismo espacio
Realmente queremos que el dinero no sea una barrera para la participación y también queremos tener un presupuesto para apoyar nuestra creatividad y acción. Apreciamos cualquier tipo de donación que puedas hacer, o incluso si solo compartes este enlace de recaudación de fondos en tus redes.

El Ayni Climático creará un espacio de convivencia, curación, cuidado, arte, co-construcción y comunidad. Estos elementos hacen que el campamento sea especial y diferente, ya que refleja la pluralidad y diversidad de nuestros territorios y luchas, además de fortalecer nuestro tejido social y la acción colectiva. El campamento reunirá la sabiduría combinada de las comunidades de base, los movimientos sociales y las culturas indígenas que desean emprender acciones sociales que muestran el camino hacia la transición a nuevos mundos posibles basados en la justicia de género, racial, territorial, laboral, climática y ambiental, equidad y reciprocidad.
Específicamente, el campamento busca:
- Fortalecer el tejido social latinoamericano que trabaja hacia el cambio sistémico, la justicia ambiental y social: una transición a nuevos mundos posibles
- Establecer el significado de la justicia climática para nuestros territorios
- Profundizar las intersecciones de las luchas por la justicia social y ambiental
- Planificar acciones y proyectos colectivos en los meses próximos y durante el 2020

Ayni en las culturas andinas se refiere a la reciprocidad y el apoyo mutuo, y se basa en las sinergias entre el mundo humano, natural y espiritual. El principio en el que se basa Ayni, la reciprocidad, nos ayuda a enfrentar la crisis ambiental y social global, restaurando el sentimiento de cooperación entre grupos, organizaciones e individuos, y nos conecta con una vida plena y consciente para el buen vivir.
¿QUIÉNES ESTAMOS ORGANIZANDO EL AYNI?
Somos una red de grupos y jóvenes activistas que trabajan por la transformación sistémica hacia "el buen vivir", bajo los principios de la justicia climática y social. Venimos de redes como TierrActiva Peru, TierrActiva Colombia, TierrActiva Bolivia, y la Plataforma Boliviana Contra el Cambio Climatico, y nos estamos organizando porque sabemos la importancia de construir colectivamente con el conocimiento específico de nuestra región. Hasta ahora, el Campamento había recibido apoyo financiero de Global Greengrants, FRIDA The Young Feminist Fund y el Fondo Centroamericano de Mujeres.
