Help me study abroad in Cuba

Hi Folks!
Firstly I'd like to acknowledge that this last year has been filled with many blessings and lots of hard work. I'm extremely grateful for all of the support I received upon transferring into UCLA. On a side note, I kept the promise I made to a lot of you by maintaining a 4.0 GPA throughout my entire first year.
For those of you who don't know, I have been preparing for a study abroad trip to Cuba. The program is through UC Davis and is called "Narratives Of Resistance." The program is designed to learn how Cuba has played a role in resisting U.S. colonization, capitalism, and commodification.
The curriculum itself is centered on the roles of literature, art, and music as tools of resistance for the people of Cuba. While in Cuba, not only will I be taking classes, but I will also be working on my own research, particularly in the LGBT community that exists within this historically resistant island country. My plan is to use this research in my senior thesis and other projects I plan to work on upon my return to UCLA.
Unfortunately, I did not anticipate that my scholarships and grants would not cover my summer financial aid, and I've only been awarded a small sum in the form of loan. Although I do plan on taking on the loan debt, I'm still short on my fees. I'm reaching out to you in hopes that you might help in making this trip come true. Any little bit helps, and I promise to give back to you and to others.
My goal amount will help to off-set the price of the program itself which is 5,000.00 dollars. It will also help with basic expenses like food while in Cuba.
For those who donate anything, I will make sure to bring you back something special. Every single one of you.
