Ayisha's Wheelchair Fund

Ayisha is my daughter.  She was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and related learning difficulties at age 13 months. She is the shiniest, most beautiful person I know. She loves music, dancing, being out in nature,  especially under the trees. She enjoys attending college, shopping, going to the cinema and theatre and generally being out there in the world.


Ayisha needs to use her wheelchair everyday and it is her life-line to everyday life. The one she has is provided by the local NHS.  She has had it since 2008 and it is often breaking and is big and heavy. It has no power and seriously limits the places that her carers and I can visit with her including our local area which is quite hilly. Any incline has become difficult now that Ayisha is a young woman and is bigger and heavier.

What I would love to be able to provide for her is a lightweight chair with a powerpack that is built into the wheels. This means that the chair can be folded and put into the back of the car without having to dismantle it. It would not be so heavy to push and would mean we can access many more places. Ayisha is a lively, happy young woman who loves to get out and about. The new wheelchair is something that would greatly improve her quality of life and mean a great deal to us as a family and to her carers who love her dearly and want the very best for her. The new chair and power-pack would enable Ayisha to venture further afield for more adventures.
