Smarty Pants Yoga

I am a second grade teacher at a low-income school in Chicago. This past year I began incorporating yoga into my instruction as a way to help my students learn to calm down and focus their minds.
This coming school year I would like to bring Smarty Pants Yoga, an after school program that combines yoga, literacy, and social emotional learning, to second and third grade girls in my school. The girls who participate in this program will learn valuable lessons about managing their emotions and stress, as well as practice their literacy skills, all while learning new yoga poses.
The money I raise for this program will go toward giving every girl their own yoga mat, a snack, books, as well as paying the yoga instructor. With your help we can provide this amazing opportunity to the girls at my school!
