Have you ever felt like you belong somewhere else? Like the Mediterranean Sea was made for your bare feet and the art galleries of Europe were meant to be graced with your presence--and yours, theirs? Like the ancient streets were supposed to be touched by the soles of your shoes? This is how I feel every single day about Granada, Spain.
My name is Brooke, and I'm in my third year at a private university where I study Secondary Education, English, and Spanish with the plan of becoming a high school language arts teacher in California.
In January of 2015, I will fulfill my dreams of studying in Spain at la Universidad de Granada for a semester through International Studies Abroad (studiesabroad.com). I won't be there just for the studying and the siestas and the sangria; I will be there to find out who I've always wanted to be and to become a better student, teacher, thinker, and citizen of the world.
Please consider helping me get to Spain--even the smallest bit helps. $10,000 is a rough estimate because, as you probably know, the cost of flights and tuition are constantly in flux. Room and board is roughly $2,200 per month. This campaign, no matter how much is raised, will greatly ease the financial and mental burden placed on me and my family as we prepare to make this happen in the next few months.
