Friends of Erin “Moran” and Travis Shaw,

I received a pretty tough call today from my best friend Travis Shaw. He didn't sound like himself and I could tell something was wrong almost immediately.
A couple of weeks ago I spoke to Travis and talked about getting together sometime this summer. Travis mentioned Erin wasn’t feeling well and that this pregnancy was getting the best of her. She was having chronic migraines and was extremely tired all the time.
Well last week things took a turn for the worst. Erin had been extremely tired and throwing up a lot and she chalked it up as another pregnancy ailment. Then she started forgetting things she would never normally forget, like buying the wrong size pampers and forgetting to bring Kelley a bottle after just leaving the room to get him one. Travis realized something was wrong when he was doing some work on the their house, and although Erin was home, she wasn’t up to watching their son Kelley. Travis took Kelley to his Mom’s house for the day and when he returned Erin couldn’t get up to say hello or kiss their son. He knew something horrible was wrong if she couldn’t even acknowledge her son after not seeing him all day. He immediately noticed the vomiting had gotten worse when he returned home and that Erin had actually thrown up on herself.
Travis had to carry Erin to the car and into the ER. An MRI showed that Erin had a brain tumor and underwent surgery the next morning. Doctors were able to remove 95% of the tumor, however, 5% of an aggressive high grade tumor remains. Erin will undergo radiation at MD Anderson in 2-3 weeks and is currently 6 months pregnant with a baby girl. The baby will be delivered prematurely, which is scary in and of itself.
As you can imagine, Travis and Erin are both facing a very tough road ahead. To make matters even worse, tonight Travis was told Erin has a maximum of two years left with her family and all of us who are blessed to have her in our lives.
Erin was staying home to care for Kelley and helping run their real estate business. Travis is going to have to spend most of his time taking care of Erin, Kelley and a soon to be baby girl, so will not have the time or concentration he would need to focus on his career as a real estate agent. Travis will have to support his family in ways he probably never thought, at least not at the age of 37. Amy and I are asking that you help us raise some money for them, so the last thing Travis needs to worry about right now is selling real estate. If we all can contribute something, not matter the amount, we can give Travis the ability to focus on the most important role of his life, being a caring and supportive husband and father.
There are a lot of people that love Erin and Travis and this is a time when they need everyone’s support. I’ve started this Go Fund Me account to help with the easy part, the money. Unfortunately no matter how much we love them we can’t help take this illness out of their lives. Please pass this along to as many friends as possible to help get the word out.

Thank you,
