In Need of Help with Surgery Cost

Donation protected
Dear Everyone that I may encounter (my family, friends, facebook and strangers),

My name is Shandra. I am a single mother from Houston, Texas. In the past 14 years I have undergone numerous of surgeries (breast and ovaries) and treatments. Everyday I battle an incurable, painful, debilitating disease called Endometriosis. I was diagnosed with Stage I Endometriosis at age 21. Stage II Endometriosis at age 27. Stage IV Endometriosis at age 28. As evey one know me and the people that don't. My life practically comes to a halt when I have pain to where sometimes I'm bed ridden. Not only do I have Endometriosis I have fibrocystic disease. I was diagnosed at age 14.

From my last Doctor Appointments on June 24, 2014 and June 26, 2014. I have a fibroid in my uterus, numerous of cysts in both ovaries with free fluid, thyroid, spleen and kidney problems. I go to see a GI on this Thursday before my next Surgery.

My rescheduled surgery is July 22, 2014 at Memorial Hermann which cost $1491.50. I have to see the GI specialist again on July 14, 2014

As you see all my funds go towards Doctor appointments twice a week. Treatments. Medicine and Surgeries. Most of all tons of ER visits.

What is Endometriosis? Endometriosis is caused when the tissue that lines the uteren walls gets outside the uterus and attaches itself to other places in the abdominal cavity. It causes lesions, adhesions (binding of the organs), inflammation and internal bleeding.

There are still A LOT of misconceptions regarding. Endometriosis. A hysterectomy is not a cure for Endometriosis. My doctor (and 7 other Doctors) want to avoid giving me a Hysterectomy due to my age and menopause. Besides the Endometriosis is spreading every where. Getting a hysterectomy wouldn't do any justice. I will still have to get surgery.

There currently is no cure for Endometriosis. I do have some relief after surgeries. However the Endometriosis comes back every 4-5 months and aggressively.

I've been strong for a while now. However, I do admit to having weak moments. Maybe I'm tired of being passed from doctor to doctor. Having surgeries after surgeries. Treatment after treatment. Maybe it's the days I'm not able to get out of my bed and play with Princess Skylar (my 3 year old daughter). Whatever it is I pray they find a cure for this soon. I will keep my faith and keep praying!

All donations truly appreciated because I am forever grateful. No amount is too small. All donations will cover medical expenses (surgeries and medicine). Please continue to keep mea nd my princess in your prayers.
