Certified in Nipples, you heard me.

Hello Friends and Family! I have a new life goal. To become certified in nipples. What's that you say? Yes, I will be attending a school later this year with the goal of becoming a certified paramedical tattoo artist, specialzing in areola repigmentation.

We all know (many of us, all too well) the devastating effects of cancer on both patients and their loved ones. I have often felt the need to help, but was never certain what to do with my specific skill set. That is until I recently read an article on the need for more artists to perform "realistic nipple tattoos on the reconstructed breasts of mastectomy patients."

I instantly thought: I CAN do this. I WANT to do this! I'm excited to  learn specialized tattooing and to meet and work with women who are beginning new chapters in their lives. I want to be there for them during this first big step back to "normal." I have found my calling.

After much research, both online and with speaking to local tattoo artists, I have been directed to a specifc school in Louisiana, the top one in the country for this type of tattooing.

The tuition for my paramedical course and certification is $3000, plus I will need money for plane tickets and room and board. I have a teeny bit of money saved up, but at this point I can't quite afford to make all of the payments on my own. That's where you come in...

Asking for financial assistance is about the most uncomfortable thing I have ever done. I don't know if any of you have noticed, but I'm kind of an independent lady and I take great pride in accomplishing things single-handedly. However, one of the great life lessons I've learned during this past, very difficult year, is that I have amazing friends and family and that by asking for help when you need it is sometimes the bravest thing a person can do. And often, the end result is heartwarming.

I thank you for all of the love and support you have all shown me in the past. And I thank you in advance for your continued love and support. I don't need much, but if any of you have a few bucks to spare, I would love love love to start this new chapter in my life as soon as possible!!

ps I still have the hanger-making business, for those wondering, and it's going well, however these tattoos can be easily worked into my schedule and the ulitmate goal would be to someday retire from the business of brides and tattoo full time. Thank you!
