Bikes and Hikes for Hospice 2021

In case you missed us.......We are back BUT this time with a bum numbing twist! There will be 2 men, 2 bikes, 3 mountains and a gruelling 120km cycle to Kerry, all in aid of the South Tipperary Hospice. The events will take place over 4 days on the August Bank Holiday weekend 2021.
Similar to last year there will be 3 hikes starting with lake Muskry on the 31st July, Galtee mor on the 1st of August followed by a harrowingly hardy 120km cycle from Bansha to Killarney and ending with a climb up the mighty Carrauntoohil on Tuesday the 3rd of August.
Lake Muskry is family fun day which will be supported by mountain radio rescue, the red cross and plenty of stewards to help you along your way so all ages are welcome to join in on the action.
All the other events will be adult only and everyone is welcome to participate in the events with us over the 4 days which start at 10am.
The Galtee Mor climb holds a very special place in our hearts and is dedicated to Micheal Peters mother who sadly lost her battle with cancer in August 2019. Breda was a wonderful person and mother who is looking down on her family, friends and the whole of Tipperary from a plaque that was erected on the top of the mountain last year by Micheal himself.
Alan and Micheal started this journey from a place of grief and great loss. Micheal devastatingly lost his mother in 2019 to cancer and Alan has seen all sides to this unforgiving disease which he lost his mother, father, sister and has battled with this disease himself to this very day.
The Hospice supported these families and many more at the unbearably painful times they were faced with and offered them healing through their dedication, professionalism, support and kindness and now both Micheal and Alan want nothing more than to raise funds for the Hospice so others like them can avail of a life changing service that is at a great financial loss due to COVID.
Last year Alan and Micheal raised over 23000 euro for the Hospice which would not have been possible without the people's generosity and support. So with that we are asking for your continued support to raise the much needed money to keep this amazing service for those that need it.
