Pray for Tamika Powell
On June 11th, an otherwise healthy 35 year old female, Tamika Powell was taken to the ER for chest pains. Prior to her arrival to the ER she had thought she was possibly having reflux, so she had taken a Zantac which provided no relief. After arriving at the ER & a series of x-rays and scans were performed, it was confirmed that she had a mediastinal mass pressing on her heart and lung. On June 24th, she was diagnosed with a very rare and very aggressive cancer called Primary Mediastinal Large B Cell Lymphoma. Tamika is married to Cliff Powell and together they have 4 children; ages ranging from 6-14 years old. Tamika is a strong Christian lady with a generous heart~always pouring into the lives of others. She is a 3rd grade teacher at East Elementary in Cullman, and will be taking off at least 1/2 of the school year for treatments. On top of this, her husband lost his job in April of this year and with 4 children to support they are in for one long tough battle, but Tamika has a great & positive attitude and she is ready for this battle. She & Cliff have asked us to PRAY hard and speak LIFE. Tamika & Cliff are focused on making this a win; not only for them, but also for God's Kingdom. They are determined that no matter the outcome~their experience will make a difference in the lives of others & will glorify God in the process. Their prayer is for YOU to be blessed so that you can be a blessing to others. Tamika is receiving 6 aggressive chemotherapy treatments every 3 weeks as an inpatient at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. It is required that she is an inpatient during these treatments for 6 consecutive days. This process has a duration of 6 months. Many people, like myself, are having feelings of helplessness & want to help them in any way possible. The money donated here will go directly into their account to assist them with these unexpected costs. Please know they appreciate EVERYTHING, especially the prayers & support.
