On June 15, the Pakistan Army launched the Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan.
Up to 600,000 people could end up being displaced according to the federal government. These people include children, women and elderly - all of them hungry, homeless and victimized because of the current situation.
I hope to collect the money in the form of donations for the people of Waziristan so as to donate to a reliable organization before Eid-ul-Fitr. Lets help rid some of the suffering of these innocent people in this time of need and during this holy month of Ramadan.
A little bit about me:
I am an American-Pakistani currently residing in the greater Washington DC area. I am an active member of the Pakistani community who has served on the Pakistani Student Assoc. chapter of George Mason Uni (2[phone redacted]), interned for Prince William Board of Supervisor's office, and graduated with a BA in govt. and international politics.
Like most Pakistani-Americans, I dream of a better future for Pakistan. This campaign is my way of contributing to help out the needy and deserving people of Waziritan who have been rendered helpless due to the current situation. These funds will be handed over to Comprehensive Disaster Response Services (CDRS) headed by Todd Shea who has worked effortlessly to help out with the IDPs of Waziristan (www.cdrspakistan.org). These funds will be used to provide food and medical supplies. Being a Maryland native, Todd Shea is currently visiting in hopes of collecting funds and I will be meeting him in person to hand over the money.
We are also hosting a charity musical night to collect more funds. Here is the link:
