Be Their Angel - Awaken Foundation Campaign

In August 2019, the landlord of the building where our foundation was previously located informed us that he wanted to sell the land, kicked us out abruptly, and began demolishing the building while we were still in it. The Awaken youth foundation is a safe haven for at-risk youth in Quito, Ecuador—kids who come from broken families, suffer abuse, work in the streets, sell drugs, or have parents in jail—and we need a place for them to go. Fortunately, another youth foundation has taken in the kids until we establish a new center. Please help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 by the New Year to build a new center for the Awaken youth foundation.
Not only do we need a new center for our kids, but also we want to make this center bigger and better than the last. These kids deserve so much, and we want to provide them with a fun and safe space that they are excited to come to after school each day. We have purchased a new space, but it needs to be nearly entirely rebuilt and furnished. Our vision for the new building includes a kitchen for cooking classes, a silent study and a communal study room, an art room for painting, music, and theater, a safe space for therapy, and a big grassy area for sports.
In addition, we need to be able to continue providing the essential resources that we already provide such as two warm meals and regularly scheduled therapy. For many of these kids, the only food they eat are the meals received at Awaken.
The love for a child is a love like no other. At Awaken, we love each and every child as if they were our own. Together we can raise enough funds to build the new center for the kids. While we are grateful that they still have a place to go, the inability to attend the Awaken youth foundation has been a serious disruption to their routine, which is an essential component to the development of our youth who lack routine and discipline at home. By providing each child with all the essentials for their emotional, psychological, and physical growth, we can help each child pave a way to a brighter future in the face of difficult circumstances.
