I’m about to get real folks. So I’ve been fighting two types of cancer for the last half year after having two tumors removed and the lil stinkers have gone all metastatic neoplasm on me and are now in my lymphatic system. So now it’s game on for survival. But I have a plan for going and fighting forward, because that’s what Slade’s do. So for the last year I’ve been training to summit the worlds largest free-standing mountain Kilimanjaro in Africa with my brother Frank Kivuyo. He has always told me about how the children there in Arusha in Tanzania don’t have shoes, so we were thinking we could bring some with us. So my biggest goal in life was to have a family some day, a goal that was more important to me than even changing the world. So even though that might not happen now since I never got married or had kids, I need something to fight for. This needs to be something greater than myself, because I’ve never been any good at fighting for myself; however, I can fight for others till my last sunset. So instead of just doing a cancer fundraiser I am going to try to also fight for the kids who are orphaned in Arusha as well, to be a type of guardian for those that don’t have the amazing parents that I have had the luck to have. I may not be able to leave my own legacy the way I wanted, but with your help will be able to leave a different type of legacy for these children who have no parents, a legacy that Arusha will always remember. My fight will be to make it through until I will personally be able to deliver to these future SuperSlade’s something they will appreciate every day, a bit of sunshine every time they wake up and lace-up to face a new day. If there is anything I know is that I have an amazing network of friends, and so if you can at least just throw down for a pair of kicks we can do this!
