Educational trip to France

I have the opportunity to travel to France this next summer for three weeks with other students from my Cleveland High School French class.  We would travel to France for a three week period and each stay with a host family with a child of similar age in the home. At this time, the destination is not yet set however, I have been told that it will be a provincial town smaller than the large cities of the country. Potentially, I could be staying with a family in the city of Nantes. Nantes is located southwest of Paris near the west coastline. Nantes, a city on the Loire River in the Upper Brittany region of western France, has a long history as a port and industrial center. The photo here is a photo of me and my friend Gwendoline. This past year my families hosted two French exchange students at separate times. Gwendoline lives in the United Arab Emirates but spends her summers in Paris.  We had a wonderful time together and I would love to see them again.


Going to France is an amazing opportunity that’s very rare. By doing this trip, I’d be able to experience France for 3 weeks, staying with a French host family, and getting to explore the city of my host family. This trip will enable me to experience authentic French food, learn about French culture firsthand, and also would greatly help improve my French language skills. I’d be staying in a smaller city, and at the end of the trip, my class would meet up from the various host families and visit Paris for three days. It’s such a unique experience and I’d love to be able to go.

The trip  includes airfare, ground transportation, homestay with French family, 3-day tour of Paris, orientation and preparation, 24-7 support, comprehensive medical and accident insurance as well as educational excursions such as museum entrance fees.
