My name is Avi Weisblatt, I’m 29, a father to two girls, Nechama and Shira, with my wife Esther (Gewirtz)and we live in Israel. 2 years ago, I was diagnosed with a rare bone cancer (Ewing Sarcoma) in my spine. After a year that included surgery, chemotherapy and radiation, I went into remission for 8 months. This past July, the cancer was found again in different spots in my body including my spine and femur. I received a few rounds of chemo immediately after, but it was found to be ineffective. We’re currently in the process of figuring out the best treatment for me.
We live in a yishuv (settlement) in the Judean Mountains, at a high altitude. Given the extreme winter conditions here, it’s quite difficult to get to the various hospitals for treatment and consultations, and to basic things like shopping and taking the kids to school without a strong reliable car. In my current medical situation we need a car that enables us not only the technical mobility but a certain level of comfort as well. Cars in Israel are very expensive compared to America, with the tax, adding around 110% to the value of the actual car. We are asking for help to secure a car that will give us the physical as well as emotional stability which is vital to our coping with this illness. Thank you so much for your support. -Avi
This fund is for my brother-in-law Avi Weisblatt and his wife (my sister) Esther and their two daughters Nechama and Shira. This fund was created with hope of securing funds so Avi can get a reliable car. They live in a remote part of the Judean Hills and transportation is long and tedious. A car which allow more time to be spent with the family and less time waiting in the cold for busses to the variety of hospitals at which he is currently seeking consultation and receiving treatment. Thank you to all those who contribute and share in this tremendous mitzvah (good deed).
