We fund world-class scientific research and clinical trials around the globe aimed at healing the injured spinal cord.
Back in May 2020, I was due to run in the Wings For Life running challenge, but due to the pandemic, it was cancelled. This challenge was something i was trying to push myself to do for years but never felt confident or fit enough to do it. But this year i said 'I'm just going to go for it and try my best'...but never got the chance to try. And so i have decided to create my own challenge in order to raise funds to donate to Wings for Life; a 500 mile duo-athlon, with a simulated Wings for life run at the end.
Between my partner and I (i had to rope him in as well, of course :)…we will have to rack up 250 miles in running (outdoors) and 250 miles in biking (indoors) (500 total)from Monday 2nd Nov to the end of the year (Dec 31st) Then on my birthday (Jan 2nd) we will run a simulated Wings for Life race, where we will be chased by a "buggy driver" at some point, until it passes us, knocking us out of the race.
The main aim is to raise as much as we can for the named charity, have some fun whilst getting fit, and just accomplishing a challenge for a good cause.
