Avery's Genetics Testing

Dear family and friends, I am starting this page for my dear little cousin who was born last year, October 2, 2014. Avery Shea-Ann is truly a blessing to her parents and everyone who meets her. Her smiles are contagious and her very being brings such joy to us all, as we all know the tragedy and heartbreak her parents suffered from the sudden sad passing of her big brother Matthew Scott on December 27, 2006. Matthew's cause of death was never given any certain diagnosed, that is until now that little Avery has been diagnosed with the same frightening extremely rare hereditary syndrome called Long QT Syndrome . Though is controllable through medication, Genetic testing is still needed and highly recommended by her doctors to find out what her triggers are and if she will need an ICD (implantable cardiovert-defibrillator) to keep her out of danger. Unfortunately, insurance will NOT pay for her genetic testing or this life saving device because they do not feel it is important for her parents to know when and why she might suddenly go into cardiac arrest or for them to have the tools needed to save her from sudden death, the same sad fate her big brother lost his life to. But it IS important to them. They both mean the world to these wonderful parents. My cousin Scott Arnaud is an upstanding citizen in the Delcambre community. He is volunteer firefighter at the Delcambre FD and he is someone who is ALWAYS there whenever anyone needs. He has given himself selflessly for so many that I know of personally, my family included. Always one of the first ones to be there to lift you up anyway he can. Whether it be fundraisers, benefits or just being there with you through it, he is there. His awesome wife and mother to his children is not only an incredible person but one of the most loving, devoted and most deserving mother's I know. Now they need help because the INSURANCE WILL NOT PAY for their baby girl's much needed genetic testing. I am asking you all to not only please help save these parent's from another nightmare of losing their precious little girl so needlessly. Please give all you can, and then give a little more. I promise you there is no greater cause in these parents heart and lives.
