"Averys Gift" Fundraiser

It seems fitting that we present our "Go Fund Me" page on August 6th, the 11th anniversary of Avery Toole (her true Valentine's Day), when she underwent transplant surgery and received a 'perfect' heart. We honor both Avery and her donor, Dalton Lawyer, at this time. To aid in the education and awareness of organ donation, we have created a children's book entitled: "Avery's Gift," written by Jonathan Hoefer and beautifully illustrated by Milana Samarskaya. "Avery's Gift" is to be published and available by early 2021. In addition to the traditional printing of this 36-page book, we will be collaborating with a company to add augmented reality (virtual animation) to the book ... in essence: bringing the "book to life." Our mission is to spread the positive word about organ donation using this book as a vehicle to encourage people around the country to sign up to be organ donors. Avery was one of four lives that was saved back in August  2009 by his parents willingness to have Dalton become a donor.

The cost of this project, including the printing, distribution, and augmented reality will come to around $10,000. As a family and community, we will do our part to go to schools and hospitals to share the positive aspects of being an organ donor, and we feel this book will help.
