Beautiful, fun loving, two year old Avery Stone was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Christmas Day 2017. Avery previously had experienced some unexplained health issues and due to her parents' persistence to obtain an explanation,
Brooke and Luke Stone came in contact with the wonderful doctors at Dell Children's Hospital in Austin, where Avery continues her cancer recovery today.
Avery underwent two brain surgeries within 48 hours, including a successful resection surgery for the tumor. Upon the return of Avery's pathology results, the Stone family received frightening news that her cancer is rare and will require further testing for the doctors to fully understand its complexity. We are continuing to pray as we wait for the results, at which time a long term treatment plan will be established.
Avery is currently undergoing physical, occupational, and speech therapies. She will be traveling to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas late in January to start radiation and chemotherapy.
Brooke and Luke face Avery's diagnosis everyday with strength, resilience, and a positive attitude. The entire family is overwhelmed by the prayers, love and support they have received.
