Avery Shows Up For Us, Let's Show Up For Them!

Dear Friends and Community,
My (Corri's) dearest friend and platonic life partner, Avery Martens is in need of some community love and support! They are currently experiencing severe financial strain and a general patch of shit luck over the past few months due to their own medical bills from kidney stones, and emergency car repairs. Then, at the end of August, Ellie, Avery’s dog, got really sick, and her vet bills piled up. If you’ve been in this kind of situation you know how grueling money stress is on top of the stress of caring for a beloved animal companion. In September, Ellie was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Avery did everything they could to keep her comfortable, which of course brought more costs…and on September 19th, Ellie passed.
Many of you know that in addition to be a fiercely loving and deeply kind friend, Avery is an amazing cross-sectional activist and organizer who works in many spaces and coalitions fighting for racial justice. Avery is active in such important movement work and basebuilding efforts with poor and working class white folx in Ohio and in Black led multi-racial coalitions. We have both grown and benefited both on a personal level and as an organizer from their love, support and general badassery.
Avery shows up for so many friends, events and communities I would love for us all to be able to show up for them as well.
