The video you just watched is my other Averil Carnegie or as many people know her as Averil Browne. I’m her daughter and only child Zeola Jackson.

Growing up my mother always wanted to help everyone, she never wanted anyone to be in need.

When she suffered a debilitating Stroke 5 years ago we relocated her to live with us in Texas. For persons who know my mom she is known as a person who never gives up, she is a fighter. Although her stroke left her (LEFT) Arm impaired my mother was able to walk, clean, and cook even with the use of 1 hand.

What Happened:

After my family and I celebrated my dad’s successful Prostate Cancer surgery in August 2018, my mom became very ill and lost her ability to walk. After 2 ER visit and 1 Doctor appointment, our family was stunned by the news my MOM was Diagnosed in September with Stage 4 Ovarian Cancer. She also had another issue Blood clots in both of her legs and developed a condition called Dysphagia (it affects your ability to swallow).

My mom had her 1 round of Chemo on September 18th, it has been a battle since then.  This has been extremely hard since we are trying to keep my mom comfortable and positive.

The Oncologist, her other doctors and now the insurance company wants us to just give up and request Hospice.

 Why We Need Your Help:

Our family wants nothing more than to keep my mom fighting. Giving up is not an option. My mom has always been known as a fighter and we want to continue to fight for her. It has become Mentally, Emotionally, and Financially overwhelming for our family.

We need assistance with making her more comfortable at home, while in the process of finding new alternative treatment for her cancer. My mother now has a feeding tube and must be administered daily dosage for blood thinners (this is critical since she suffered a bleeding stroke 5 years ago).

My mom now requires 24 hours care, personal care products this includes her formula that must be administered through her feeding tube. Even when my mom wants to take a simple road trip to the park were unable to use our family vehicle.  We have to hire a special wheelchair transportation service which is very expensive.

Many mom needs are not covered by insurance and now that her current oncologist wants our family to choose Hospice it has become even more overwhelming.

We will continue to fight for my mom Averil Carnegie.

My family and I are usually very private, but Ovarian Cancer is no Private Matter. We are extremely grateful for any contribution you're able to give.
