<div>My niece Avalyn was diagnosed with a brain tumor on 12/1/23. She has been slowly losing her hearing along with some other things for the last 3 years. A few months ago we found out that she lost complete hearing in one of her ears. She had been losing focus and falling behind in school unable to concentrate as well as having some behavior issues. Her mother fought through doctor after doctor denying her the proper care to get answers for her baby girl because she knew something was wrong. Finally after switching her doctor for the 4th time they listened to her and took her in for an MRI and my sisters worst fear in this whole fight became her reality. Avalyn is going to have to have lots of surgeries doctors visits and traveling expenses as well as being taken out of school until further notice which is also causing her parents to take significant time off work. I’m trying to raise money to cover bills, medical expenses, travel expenses, and whatever else they need during this time as she has 3 other siblings as well and this is going to be a long journey. Please send prayers for our sweet baby girl Avalyn and her family.

<div>Avalyn started chemo in Mid January after a couple set backs and is seeing a team of oncologists at ucsf in San Francisco. We travel there often for her treatments. She will continue to have regular MRI’s, EKG’s, they will monitor her heart closely and she will have regular eye exams as it can affect her eyes pretty quickly. She will continue to have labs done weekly. She has had some new symptoms and some side effects from the chemo but as of now they’d like us to continue with it until they feel it’s safe to do surgery as the tumor grew some in the first couple scans. It does seem the meds are starting to work and we will know more at her next mri so we’re looking forward to that. Avalyn has been so strong throughout all of this and has had a lot of support from her friends and family and it keeps her positive and she still always has that beautiful smile on her face. She’s a great big sister to her siblings, she loves school and she really tries not to let this diagnosis get the best of her.
