Help Ava go to the Jr National Young Leaders Conf
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Ava.
I am a 6th grade student at Klatt Elementary in Anchorage, Alaska, and I have been nominated to represent my school and community in Washington D.C. at the Jr National Young Leaders Conference. By attending JrNYLC, I will join other motivated students from around the country for an experiential leadership program. This will be a powerful experience, giving me the opportunity to interact with respected leaders in various fields while getting to know young leaders from around the country.
I was nominated by my teacher because I am passionate and engaged at my school. I love helping people! I participate in lots of clubs like choir, band, and sports. I am also in IGNITE, our school's gifted learners' program. I even made honor choir and honor band this year!
Last year our school was almost closed by the school district. I advocated that my school stay open by writing a letter and reading it in front of the school board. I also participated with other students, teachers, and parents at multiple events to advocate to keep our school open. We were able to keep it from being closed!
I have big dreams and I hope attending JrNYLC will help me in becoming an engineer, interior designer, historian, author or maybe even President of the United States. I also love Anchorage, my school, my neighborhood, and community. I hope JrNYLC will help me make them all better. I love Anchorage because it is a beautiful place to live, and we work hard to keep it that way. I love my school because everyone cares for each other (mostly), and we have an amazing principal who has great ideas. I love my neighborhood because it is small but cozy with familiar faces all around. I love my community because they are the people that keep me going, supporting me and caring for me even when times are tough. I hope all parts of my life benefit from my experience at JrNYLC.
In order for me to attend JrNYLC, I need to raise $5,000 in sponsorships to cover the cost of tuition, lodging, and airfare. I have been cleaning cars, mowing lawns, and shoveling snow to work toward covering the cost but I will still need more help.
Would you consider supporting me through a sponsorship?
