It is with tremendously heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isabella “Bella” Lynn Boegner.
An unexpected complication put both mother and baby at serious risk in the early morning of May 2nd. After emergency surgery in Baraboo, Bella Lynn Boegner was born at 7:04 am weighting 6 pounds 7oz. Mother and baby were transferred to St Mary’s in Madison. Isabella spent the next 48 hours in the NICU, while mom was in recovery.
Unfortunately, an MRI on Sunday revealed that due to the lack of oxygen she had received prior to and during the extraction, she had severe damage to critical parts of her brain. These areas control her breathing, endocrine system and other critical bodily functions.
With no viable path to recovery the difficult decision was made to remove her from life support on Monday (5/4) afternoon. She passed peacefully at 4:25pm on 5/4/2020.
Her final hours were spent cuddling in the loving arms of her mother and father.
Kristin and I would like to thank everyone for their positive thoughts, prayers and well wishes during this time.
We would like to thank the teams at St Clare and St Mary’s for the wonderful care they provided and for affording us the time to meet our daughter and say our final goodbyes.
Lastly we would like to thank our beautiful daughter Isabella, who fought courageously and gave us everything she could. She was a fighter till the end and she gave us as much time as she could to allow us to grieve.
Though her time with us was short and bittersweet, we will carry her memory and love for a lifetime.
In lieu of flowers, we have set up this go fund me page in her memory to help with differing the costs of the surgery, transportation, NICU and funeral arrangements.
Any additional funds will be placed into a college fund for her surviving sisters Anastasia (5) and Josephine (3).
We wish everyone reading this, health and safety in these uncertain times.
