Support Sprout's Medical Expenses

Sprout is our beloved 3-year-old Chinese Crested, and he is currently in critical condition at Michigan State University's small animal clinic.  On 6/1/17, we brought him to the vet for his routine heartworm test and to have him examined due to having an onset of bouts of rapid breathing.  At that time, his lungs sounded clear, so it was suspected allergies, possible upset stomach.  On 6/14/17 he started vomiting and having more difficulty breathing, so he was brought to another vet that could see him immediately, and due to the severity of his chest x-rays, we transferred him to a local emergency hospital for 24-hour care and oxygen.  On 6/16/17, due to concerns that he was not responding to aggressive treatment for pneumonia, further x-rays were taken and found to be worse from his original x-rays.  Due to these findings and the vet recommendations, we drove him to MSU (about an hour away), in a sealed crate with supplemental oxygen, because MSU is the only place able to provide ventilator support. Sprout had additional x-rays taken, and he has a highly atypical presentation. The plan is for a tracheal wash to be performed (a diagnostic procedure to get a culture from his lungs) to determine what is causing his infection. Due to Sprout having to work so hard to breathe even in oxygen, there is a high chance of him needing to be intubated and put on ventilation support, as he is tiring out.  The tracheal wash puts him at higher risk for respiratory failure, but it is the only way to know how to treat him. 
We cannot give up on him, and we want to give him all the support and time and care needed to diagnose him, and then give his body the time to have the chance to get the right treatment to fight this mysterious infection. 
The bills we have paid so far add up to $6000, maxing out our credit limits.  The cost of the oxygen alone has been $500/day, and he has been unable to tolerate leaving the oxygen. 
The cost to even turn on the vent is $2000, with a cost of $1000-$1500/day.  Sprout would be anticipated to need vent support for up to 5 days. 
We were really hoping to do this on our own, but we unfortunately do not currently have the means. (And unfortunately do not have any belongings of value to sell--I wish we did!) Any support would be a miracle, as we cannot imagine life without our crazy, leaping, cuddling, loving Sprout.
