AUYA Educational Competition NYTrip

Every year the young members of the American Ukrainian Youth Association (AUYA) Chicago Branch travel to New York over Memorial Day weekend to compete in an international competition against all other branches of the AUYA across the U.S. and Canada.  The children attending this rigorous competition, ranging from 12-17 years of age, study for months to compete in events such as: exams, poetry, multimedia, volleyball, track & field, singing, dancing, acting, and team competitions, to name a few.

The AUYA, a volunteer-based organization, does everything it can to not only educate the youth about their Ukrainian heritage, but also aims to raise the youth to become respectful, responsible adults.

The funds raised will help us cover some of the many travel expenses we incur on this trip.  Every little bit helps, as we usually have approximately 25-30 kids in attendance, along with about 10 chaperones...and, as you can imagine, airfare, rental vans, etc. add up pretty quickly.

We've got the studying for the competition down, we just need a little help getting there.

Thank you in advance for your donations!
