Willow Michelle Krich was born on June 26th, 2014. She was delivered via emergency c-section at roughly 10:45pm a few weeks ahead of schedule at just under 6 pounds. Due to complications leading up to the hours of the emergency birth, Willow has been given her first great challenge in life: potential brain damage as a result of lack of oxygen and blood.

Willow's mom Chelsea had to be prepped for surgery and due to the circumstances had to be put under anesthesia for the c-section, but recalls the last thing she heard before going under: We can't detect a heartbeat. Immediately after delivery, doctors and nurses prepared the family for the worst. It was expected that Willow would spend only a few brief moments with us and that the few gasps of air she took for the first time would also be her last. Willow's dad Michael was faced with the certainty of losing their daughter only moments after her birth, while Chelsea may never have gotten to hold her.

Willow is a Warrior.

She began breathing with the assistance of an oxygen supply and was receiving blood as well. She continued to breath and continued to fight, this little girl doesn't give up so easily. Minutes later the doctors and nurses made another determination: Willow was brain dead. They could detect a heartbeat, they could see that she was breathing, but they couldn't detect any brain activity. It was once again determined that Willow would not live for long.

Willow is a Warrior.

Willow continued to fight and continued to show her strength. She was transferred to another hospital in Seattle where upon arrival Doctors were shocked: Willow was showing high levels of brain activity.

There is a long road ahead for Willow, but she is our Warrior and she is strong. The family needs your help to continue the fight.  The cost of Willow's medical care is enormous and many things such as travel for the transfer between hospitals are not covered by insurance.  Any amount you can donate to this fund is greatly appreciated. Please help us to smash this goal and give Willow and her family the support they need.  100% of donations received are going directly to Willow and her family to support these costs.

Thank you for taking the time to hear our story and thank you all for your love and support!
