Hope on The Desert!

I am seeking $35,000 in funding for Vision in Action, a mental hospital that I founded in the desert on the west edge of Juárez, Mexico. Here I am caring for 110 to 120 mental patients, all of whom have basically been abandoned by their families, their friends and the Mexican government. We survive by donations and because everyone tries to assist in the running of this facility.

The major and most immediate issue is that the facilities are designed for only 70 patients and there is little opportunity for the men and women to have some separation and privacy. Therefore, my goal is to construct a patio or garden for the women. This will alleviate the daily crowding and give them the dignity that they deserve. The bulk of the funding will be for materials. Most of the actual work will be done by volunteers or the better functioning patients.
