Bringing Joy to Mental Health Residents

The Booth Center is a residence for at-risk men in downtown Montreal. Recently the building - and especially the mental health floor have had a bad Corona virus outbreak. 

Unfortunately this means that protocols have increased and residents have been quarantined to their (very small) bedrooms. Many, if not all, of these men already struggle with building healthy relationships and enabling their own autonomy. To be trapped in their minds is already a struggle for some - to be trapped in their rooms is a fate far worse. 

While we can't currently change the situation, we can try and create a positive and stimulating environment! I am asking you to reach out and donate whatever you are able to provide these guys with personal entertainment or activities we can provide them to do in their room. 

Want an example of where your money will be going?  One resident has just had his three year anniversary of being sober. He expressed to me that he would love to take up oil painting again. Your donation could provide him the proper artistic tools to express himself through artwork.

Another resident plays electric guitar but the neck needs adjusting and the sound output is busted. Your donation could allow him to practice his guitar more often, (which I have observed drastically helps to reduce his moments of aggression and psychosis). 

Many would enjoy having coloring pencils, reading material, or even some more basic necessities which they are unable to go out and purchase for themselves, or can't afford because welfare checks have been delayed since the pandemic began. 

Please consider bringing joy, creativity and a sense of autonomy to these men.  100% of proceeds received will go DIRECTLY to the mental and physical needs of the residents at The Booth Center.  Thank you so much!
