From Ashes to Auto for Mandy Alverson

Hello friends. I am trying to help a friend truly in need of help this year. My friend, Mandy Alverson, was recently involved in an automobile fire in which her car was completely lost in the blaze. She has been living with a friend in North Dakota due to working from home because Covid shut her office down. The majority of her belongings are in a storage building in South Dakota. In an effort to save money on the size of the storage unit, she headed to South Dakota this Thanksgiving weekend to pick up some of her stuff and move the remaining stuff to a smaller unit. She had nearly made it to Sioux Falls when her 2011 Jeep Compass burst into flames. There were no warning lights whatsoever. Mandy was able to get out of the vehicle and get her 19 year old service dog (Mona) out as well. Both suffered from smoke inhalation but were otherwise unharmed. That's the good news. The bad news is that Mandy had only liability insurance on her Jeep and now has no vehicle. She had worked hard to pay the Jeep off and recently bought tires, new struts, and had other service done to be sure she was good to go with a dependable vehicle for some time to come. Mandy has always been a hard worker and has been through many trials in life before now. She often works two jobs to support herself and Mona. You see Mona is a 19 year old, diabetic dog that she rescued many years ago. Mona has rescued Mandy as well many times, so they are blessed to have one another. But right now, Mandy could really use some help from her human friends as she faces this additional challenge of this tragic loss of her only vehicle. My hope is to raise at least $7500 for Mandy so that she can purchase a safe, dependable vehicle. If you can help with a donation, that would be such an incredible blessing.
