Autistic Child - Family Car Repair

Dear Friends,  

I started this fundraising campaign because I need help to fix our only mean of transportation. Our car broke down, and the repair is going to be very expensive, and if not fixed in its entirety, the car will be total loss because the engine might be damaged. I can’t afford to buy any other vehicle. The car that we have is year 2011, and if repaired can run well for at least 10 more years.

I live in the South of Mexico with my 10-year old son, Vini has severe autism and epilepsy.  He can’t cope with any other transportation; I can’t take taxis or buses. He needs his wheelchair when outside the house, and it’s not safe to walk with him pushing the chair in the street because he jumps out of it, and runs off due to different triggers like: traffic noise, weather, etc. So we depend 100% on our car, which is also the main tool that helps control his aggressive behavior when he is in crisis.

I haven’t been able to work outside or from home because I am busy with my son’s care fulltime, day and night. My son doesn’t attend any school or therapy.  I don’t have any other help from respite and/nannies because he gets denied everywhere due to his impulsiveness and aggressive behaviors. So, I am his only main caregiver 24/7.

My son doesn’t understand it, and his aggression escalates because he can’t talk or communicate his frustration. The car is an essential help that keeps us both safe as much as possible.
