Therapy Dog For William

My son William is 4 years old. He loves Thomas the Tank Engine, Paw Patrol, Bugs, Cooking, washing machines and milkshakes.
William also has Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder and Epilepsy.
Autism is a neurological condition often characterised by difficulties communicating, forming relationships with people and in using language and abstract concepts.
Sensory Processing Disorder is a disorder where the brain has trouble receiving and processing information that comes in through the senses.
Epilepsy is a neurological disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbance, loss of consciousness associated with abnormal electrical activity in the brain.
These conditokns are lifelong, and make simple activities like wearing clothes, going to the shops and driving in the car difficult for William.
Through the amazing organisation Guide Dogs SA William has met William’s new best friend.
This gorgeous dog is a therapy/companion dog for William. He is trained in specific skills that will help William with sensory challenges and will be a companion and can come with him to therapy sessions and assist in situations that William
finds distressing or difficult.
He’ll provide a calm influence on William’s life and won’t ask anything from him socially so William can just relax with him and have a friend, even on his most difficult days.
I am a very proud person, and asking for help is very hard for me.
William is the light of my life. The world is a better place because he is in it, and I want to do everything I can to help improve his quality of life so he can enjoy all the other things kids his age experience.
We have a team at Kid Sense Child Development, Novita and Briars Special Early learning centre who work so hard to make this happen for William. We would really love this beautiful dog to be apart of this team.
I am fundraiaing for only a small portion of the fee it will cost to have him in our lives.
