Hi everyone, my name is Joseph Janes, 15, and belong to the Donisthorpe Odyssey Explorer Scout Group, within the Coalville and Ashby District.

I have been lucky enough to be one of a few scouts selected within the Ashby and Coalville District, to attend the Mini Scout Jamboree to Pfadfinderdorf Zellhoff in Austria from 31st July - 9th August, 2026.

Due to the limited number of scouts from each District that are able to go, we all had to go through a selection process including application form, selection camp (a very wet selection camp) involving team building, organisational skills, a mini interview whilst on camp, along with other aspects of scouting activities.

I'm very proud and excited to have been one of the lucky ones to have this 'Once in a Lifetime' opportunity.

The camp is situated directly on the shore of the Grave see, in the centre of a nature reserve, not far from Salzburg.

Every summer, the site turns into a mini jamboree and is one of the most exciting scout campsites in Europe, with scouts attending from around the globe. Joint activities including sailing, surfing, riding and other scouting activities will promote new international friendships.

To enable me to attend, I need to raise £1300 through donations, fundraising and sponsorship.

If you feel that you can help me along the way on this 'Once in a Lifetime' experience, however small, it would be very much appreciated.
