We need your help and generosity to make Australian Gamelan Festival 2020 happening!!
We plan to hold a 3 days national Gamelan festival in Armidale, New South Wales.
Our biggest obstacle to date is lack of funds.
We are trying other ways to raise the funds through sponsorship and government/institution funding and we are still waiting the supportive results.
Meanwhile, we are seeking your generosity as an important kickstart to make it happens.

ABOUT AUSTRALIAN GAMELAN FESTIVAL 2020
This initiative will be the revival of Australian Gamelan Community Event after The “First National Australian Gamelan Festival”
was held in Armidale in 1995.
The 1995 festival was organised by University of New England ethnomusicologist, Dr David Goldsworthy.
Under “Pak David’s” direction, the UNE ensemble (Swara Naga) went on to perform at international festivals
and events around Australia and in New Zealand, Singapore and Indonesia.
Gamelan remains a vibrant and important part of cultural life in Armidale.
Dr. Kerry Watson (a former student of Dr Goldsworthy) currently lives in Armidale, teaching
gamelan and running workshops for UNE, local schools and the New England Conservatorium of Music.
She has also been involved in organising workshops/concerts
for visiting gamelan teachers/performers to Armidale.
