Most of the people in my life are animal lovers. And you all know I'm a dedicated doggie mom. I've cooked for my dogs, spoil them to death. I would never ask for money for myself but Austin is need and so I'm reaching out to ask for help.
On Monday Austin tore the ACL in his back right leg. I'm not sure what did it, jumping in and out of the car, something he did in the yard. The vet says the cause might never be known. We met with the surgeon yesterday and Austin is going to have a surgery called TPLO, basically shaving bone and then putting a device in his bone to provide stability to the leg joint. He could live without the surgery but would be in constant pain and in danger of injuring the other back leg from the stress.
The surgery and his hospitalization is going to cost $8,900. It will probably happen either Monday or Tuesday. He's otherwise a healthy dog, so this is why I want to save his life and not end it because of a bad leg.
All of this comes in the aftermath of me being laid off from my job last week. Any other time I might be able to scrape up the money on my own, but it seems as if Murphy's Law is in play, anything that can go wrong is going wrong.
Whatever you can send us, would be more appreciated than I could ever express to you. No amount is too small. My mom always said, pennies make dollars.
Thank you in advance.
