Austin's Treatment for AVM

Donation protected
It was recently discovered that Austin McNair, a 16 year old Lago Vista High School Freshmen, has a congenital health issue called an AVM (Ateriovenous Malformation).

An Arteriovenous malformation or AVM is an abnormal connection between arteries and veins, bypassing the capillary system. This vascular anomaly is widely known because of its occurrence in the central nervous system, but can appear in any location. In Austin's case, it occurring in his brain, causing blood to bleed in.

Initially we were raising money for Austin's treatment at the Mayo Clinic. However, they went ahead with the trip due to the urgentcy of Austin's medical condition. They could not wait til we had all the $$ raised.

Here is what happened at the Mayo Clinic:

From Kristi, Austin's mom "We saw Dr. at the Mayo clinic yesterday. There are no studies that Austin qualifies for at this time. The AVM seems to be relatively small and surgery is the best way to get rid of this right now. There is a surgeon in Dallas he has worked with and he will refer us to him so we can do the surgery closer to home. We got the answers we need to proceed and know the path we need to be on. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers we need them all. God Bless!!!"

The fight is not over yet!!! We still need to keep fundraising to meet our goal of $6000.00. However now his treatment will be in Dallas, closer to home. They are facing many unknown medical expenses -medicines, copays, treatment costs not covered by insurance, lost wages, travel & lodging for the family etc. It is a scary time for the family. Please share this link with anyone who can help. Thank you!!!
