Austin Fire Relief Fund

Donation protected
Update: Thank you all so much for your love and support. The words and donations mean so much to Amy, Paul, Emily, and Kevin. They have all expressed how extremely grateful they feel to have such an amazing community. In the initial stages of the insurance process we've learned the gap between their insurance and what they expect to need is greater than we initially thought. As I stated before any money raised that the family does not need will go to other families affected or to the larger fundraisers supporting relief efforts.

Thank you so much for your love and support for this amazing family.

On December 30th, 2021 Louisville and Superior Colorado were affected by multiple grass fires. If you are not familiar with the tragedy here is a link to a news article .

Sadly, the Austin’s lost their family home of 34 years to the fires. Their house was a lovingly curated home, a second home to many, filled with music and food and friends. It hosted many holiday gatherings, weddings, baby showers, and special moments with family and friends. The Austins are loved by the many communities they are part of, from theater productions to music students to Paul’s practice and the families they have built relationships with and loved for many years.

Several of us that have known the Austins for several decades started this gofundme to help support the family. I'm Rebekah Coenen (Hickernell) and have countless special memories of Friday night homegroups (IYKYK), Easter egg hunts, and sleep overs at their house. There has been a huge outpouring of love and support for the family and many have asked what they can do to help. At the most immediate time, monetary donations will be the most helpful. While the Austins have begun the insurance process, it is a long road to rebuild and there are many immediate needs that we want to support them with.

All donations will go directly to the family and any money they do not need will be donated to one of the larger fundraisers.
