Aurora Jane

Aurora is a 18 month old little girl who has been diagnosed with a airway defect called tracheomalacia, severe GERD, narrowing of esophagus, and dysphagia. She cannot drink any liquids that are thinner then the consistency of honey or it goes straight into her lung. This condition has caused her to have multiple rounds of aspiration pneumonia, 911 calls because of choking resulting in acute life threatening events, during her 18months of life. She can not eat solid foods yet and is dependent on amino acid based formula for nutrition. She will be traveling to Boston children's hospital in October to receive treatment from some of the best airway defect doctors in the world. As well all know medical expenses run high and the amount of care she has already had is putting a strain on her family. She is currently followed by children's mercy in KC MO. She has had multiple surgical procedures, seen multiple specialist there and all though they are a very good children's hospital, she has exhausted all of her resources there and options. Boston children's hospital believes they have the resources and treatments to give Aurora the opportunity to live a normal life. Any amount of help to get this precious girl to Boston to receive the care she so desperately needs would be greatly appreciated.
