Howdy Kindred Tree-lovers! VaIencia here! I am finally able to bring my grandkids from Memphis to Liberty TN, to the land and community that I have been giving my loving energy to for 22 years!
With AunTree V's Faerie Forest Camp, I have put together a two-week outdoor adventure for 7+ of my mother Betty Jean's great-grandchildren. They are the 8th Generation, un-removed from Rebecca and Nelson Yeates, who were held in chattel slavery in Mississippi.

The camp, rooted in empowerment and healing, will include camping, crafts, learning about their roots and getting connected with outdoor skills and Earth. I have two experienced camp counselors who have created a forest arts and crafts fun times schedule for the children in alignment with Sojourners Land that is my work.
Activities include: family tree history, herbalism for kids, nature walks, clay beads & sculpture making, seed planting, candle making, puppet show, print making, textile dying, drawing & writing in homemade journals, swimming & tubing on the river, karaoke, campfires and much more!

You can support AunTree V's Faerie Forest Camp by making sure we have the funds to make this the best possible experience for the children coming from the city to the country. We are going to make this camp happen by any and all means necessary, but it would be nice for it to be easy. Seven-thousand and two-hundred dollars would allow that, by helping to cover:
- a rental van (to drive the kids from Memphis to Liberty, and to transport the group to and from activities each day).
- three meals/day and snacks, for 7+ children, for 2 weeks.
- camping gear: tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, sun protection, bug spray, headlamps, water safety (for canoeing and tubing) etc.
- art supplies: print stamps, paint, brushes, paper, string, textile marbling kit, markers, sandpaper, poster board etc.
- ground protection and sun tarps.
Thank you for reading, and for your ongoing support.
In gratitude,
Valencia
