Aunt Stacey got sick.

My Grandmother passed away when my mom was 18. She decided to take on the responsibility of her 16 yr old sister, with down syndrome and diabetes. For the last 34 years my mother has selflessly worked her hardest, without complaining, to provide, the best she could, for us kids and Stacey - which includes 24/7 care, and regular insulin shots and medication. A couple weeks ago, Stacey was complaining of shoulder/chest/stomach pains and my mom brought her to the ER after extensive tests they found nothing wrong so my mom took her home and tried to make her comfortable. Well, her pain was getting worse and her breathing became noticeably labored so a few days later she brought her back in where they ran more tests and ended up admitting her. They decided to transfer her to the ICU of Methodist hospital where she was diagnosed with double pneumonia and was placed on a ventilator and put in a medically induced coma. They say for everyday Stacey is on the ventilator, she will spend a week in rehab, relearning to use her arms, walk, eat, and speak again. It has been up and down, yet my mother hasn't left her side. She is taking the time off work to be with Stacey, but that is putting her in a financial bind for bills and rent. It would be amazing to be able to take some of the financial stress off of our mother so she can focus on Stacey. Thank you for any donations, prayers, or shares.
