Early Tuesday morning the the Chavez's took Aundre to the Children's Hospital in Denver for immediate care after finding out some dangerous blood test results. Aundre Chavez, age 13, has been diagnosed with Leukemia.

Aundre has the type of Leukemia called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and is very common for children and adolescents. He has to go through a series of chemo therapy treatments, blood transfusions, and surgeries for the next three years

Aundre is a 3 sport athlete, a gifted straight A student, and loves to spend time in the outdoors with his friends and family. This week he has been through a lot, but he's been strong. The doctors are taking good care of him and are impressed with his resilient attitude.

The Chavez family will be by his side in every step of the way as Aundre begins his journey to fighting cancer. So we are asking for your support and most importantly for your prayers as we fight this battle alongside Aundre. The funds we raise will go directly towards medical bills and living expenses.

This is going to be the toughest match of his life.

Today Aundre went to church with his family and is enjoying the holiday. Please keep him in your prayers as he will be undergoing a few surgeries tomorrow for some more spinal tap and bone marrow results. The doctors want to know that his treatment has been working, so we are praying for great results! Thank you all for keeping in touch over the weeks, we are glad to have your positive presence with us always. Happy Fourth!

We would like to continue to thank you all for your generosity the past few weeks. There have been many fundraisers put on for Aundre by community members in the San Luis Valley and we would like to thank you. We are so overwhelmed with gratitude from the amount of love and support we've been given. God bless you all.

Aundre is on day 16 of his Chemo treatment. Yesterday (6/22) he was very tired and his body demanded that he rest. Please continue to pray for strength in the good days and the bad. We are truly blessed to have you all behind Aundre at this time.

Aundre was discharged from the hospital on Monday after his second spinal tap procedure. This week he has been settling in to his new temporary home with his family as well as getting more spinal taps and chemo treatments. He has some cancer in his spine, so we ask for your prayers as they go in this morning (6/14) to blast more chemo in that area to kill the cancer. Aundre has been tolerating his chemo treatments thus far and is looking forward to the end goal, which is recovery! Yesterday Aundre enjoyed the Rockies game, courtesies of the Ronald McDonald House. Again, we thank you for your prayers and support this week and will continue to keep you updated!
With much gratitude,

Thank you all for your overwhelming support. May you be blessed as much as we have been these past few days. Aundre is doing well and it brings him happiness to have his family around to cheer him up. After his diagnosis on Tuesday, he underwent surgery on Wednesday to place a port in his chest, had a spinal tap, and a bone marrow extraction. He came out like a champ. Today, he had his first of many chemo therapy treatments. Tonight he is enjoying playing video games with his brother's and cousins! Please continue to keep Aundre in your thoughts and prayers.
