Paradise Lost

If you've been following the news, the town of Paradise, California basically burnt to the ground on Thursday and Friday. My best friend, John Gliha, lived in Paradise. This is a photo of what was once John's apartment building.
When John drove to work in Chico on Thursday morning, there was no fire. John's first learned there was a problem when he received notice at about 11 am Thursday morning that Paradise was being evacuated. So, John was left with the clothes on his back and his car. This is all he has left. I cannot imagine how I would feel or what I would do if a lifetime of personal belongings disappeared in a day.
John had renter's insurance but he'll never recover the full value of what was lost and who knows when the insurance companies will start paying on claims, given the magnitude of the devastation and the number of Paradise residents who also lost everything. In the meantime, John is in need of a cash infusion.
Those of you who know John well also know that he'd give the shirt off his back to help others. He's the most selfless person I've ever known. But right now, John needs our help.
I'd like to get some money in John's hands ASAP, so he can start replacing the necessities that were lost, starting with clothes. I'm thinking $5,000 will go a long way toward tiding him over until his insurance company cuts a check.
Needless to say, no donation is too small.
