Helping Hunter "Moen"

After 2 1/2 years of Hunter being STABLE he unfortunately has relapsed. We found out July 8th 2021. It showed up in his sternum this time. Hunter started taking a chemo pills to prolong his life at that time. He also had 5 treatments of proton radiation to help with the swelling and pain of the tumor. About a month later he started having chest pain again. We went to ER and they couldn't find the source of pain but seen the nodules in his lungs were bigger. His cancer once again also went to his lungs. Hunter has made the decision to have quality over quantity of life as the chemo pill was making him sleep all day. And he developed sores on his hands and foot. He said he wants to live out the rest of his life like everyone else. So he has made the decision to stop all treatment. We don't know the length of time he has left here with us. I'm am trying to raise enough money for our family to go on one last vacation and enjoy each other while we can. And also am trying to help with funeral cost when he does pass. Anything is appreciated and helps.
Hunter's story started when he began complaining about leg pain in December of 2017. He saw doctors end of December who told us he was probably dealing with a bruised muscle from basketball.

When Hunter's pain worssened he was brought in on January 23, 2018. They x-rayed his leg. We were sent to St. Mary's in Rochester for further evaluation. They ran a MRI and CT scan on him  on 1/24/2018. Catscan of his chesk came back clear which was great news.  However, the MRI of his leg showed bone cancer.  On 1/25/2018 a PET scan and biopsy showed his cancer was localized to just his thigh area. Biopsy results came back as high grade/fast growing Osteosarcoma.

Chemo for Hunter officially started on 2/03/2018. Doctors predict 29 weeks of chemo, with no setbacks. Any setbacks will draw out the overall length of his chemo treatment.

Hunter will have an appointment on March 29, 2018 to go over how his body is reacting to chemo. Depending on his results, he may face further challenges and partial to full-length amputation.

Hunter has a long road ahead of him and we are asking for support to help subsidize our family.  At present, Steve and I are having to take time off from work to stay with Hunter during his chemo and stay home with him when he is unable to go to school or is not in the Hospital. Any support we can receive will go towards providing Hunter with the care he needs, covering any expenses that Health Insurance will not cover, and helping pay bills.
