Audrey Bergouignan & Nick Gudewicz

Our colleague and friend Audrey Bergouignan has been through a horrific ordeal.   While she and her fiancé Nick were away over Thanksgiving, someone broke in to their home and completely ransacked their house.  We have been communicating with Audrey this week, and I have received some details, and it appears that the degree of loss is staggering.  They have lost an incredible amount of personal belongings including jewelry, electronics, and cash.  The callous individuals were not satisfied with the easily accessible items, they also took car keys and bank information, and even worse: once they had the car keys, the returned to the house and stole Audrey’s car.  In an email this morning, Audrey said the value of the losses is approaching $60,000.

We would like to do something to assist Audrey and Nick through this ordeal.  No doubt the emotional trauma will be difficult for them to deal with, but they will be facing a number of financial hurdles ahead.  Although they have insurance, it will undoubtedly not cover all over their losses, and they will have to deal with deductibles.  There are likely unaccounted for fees such as getting new licenses and passports (the thieves stole Nick’s passport as well).

We approached Audrey, and with her permission, are accepting donations to help Audrey and Nick get through this.  Audrey was incredibly thankful and appreciative.  We cannot possible account for all of the losses they have encountered, but anything we can give them will help them start to get their lives back in order.

Please do not feel pressured to donate, but any little amount will help.  We attempted to limit this email to those that work and know Audrey best, but please feel free to share with anybody else who may be willing to help Audrey and Nick.
